A leading Saudi cleric hit out at France for moving to ban Muslim face-veils, but approved Muslim women foregoing veils when visiting a country which outlaws them, a Saudi paper reported on Saturday.
A popular Saudi cleric said on Saturday it is permissible for Muslim women to reveal their faces in countries where the Islamic veil is banned to avoid harassment, while deploring the effort to outlaw the garment in France.
Captain Hanadi Zakaria al-Hindi is the first Saudi woman to become a commercial airline pilot. She was born in Mecca, and passed her final exams at the Middle East Academy for Commercial Aviation in Amman, Jordan on 15 June 2005. She has a ten-year contract with Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal’s Kingdom Holding Company as a chief captain of his private jet, the Kingdom. Reports highlighted the irony that a Saudi woman is allowed to pilot an aeroplane but may not drive a car.
Hanadi Zakaria Al-Hindi will visit hospital later this month in a bid to cure a kidney problem that is hindering her promising career. She could not say whether the operation would lead to the whole kidney being removed or only part of it. The procedure, which takes up to four hours, usually has a good chance of success. Al-Hindi, who has already been offered a job as a flying instructor in case her dreams to become a pilot are shattered, hopes that she will be able to fly eventually.

Nourhanne (نورهان) also known as Nourhan is beautiful Lebanese singer. She was born on June 5, 1977. Nourhanne released her first single, “Ti Amo,” in 1996 at the age of 19, but her full-length debut wasn’t until 2003, with the release of her first album Shaklo Kif? (How Does He Look?) which spawned a series of hits across the Arab-speaking world, including her best-known recording, “Habibi ya Einy.” That song was released in two versions, the original with traditional instrumentation and the “postmodern” remix that drew some attention in Europe in 2004.

Marwa Al Wadhahi, 19, took just 12 minutes to complete a very complex puzzle created by former Sudoku world champion, Thomas Snyder, at Oman’s first-ever Sudoku challenge organised by Black and White magazine. Marwa, who competed against eight other Sudoku wizards at the final of the first ‘You Play Sudoku’ contest, was a clear winner as she topped the competition at all stages.
The event brought the spotlight not only on Sudoku in Oman, but also raised much needed awareness on autism in Oman, thanks to the presence of the American autistic savant, George Widener. Marwa won some exciting prizes, including an ORIS Limited Edition watch, a Samsung 40-inch TV, netbook, a voucher for overnight stay for two at Al Nahda Resort & Spa, one KIMS care card from KIMs Oman hospital and gift voucher from Staedler. Shatha Hassoun very cute and talented Iraqi singer. Shatha Amjad Hassoun Alshamery was born in Casablanca, Morocco on 3 March 1981, to an Iraqi father and Moroccan mother. Her father is from Al-Hilla and he is a well-known reporter, her mother, a Moroccan history teacher. Hassoun studied English Literature in Casablanca and continued her university studies in Tangier where she joined the program of Hotel and Tourism Management. Then she continued her studies in France where she gained her master’s degree.
In 2007, Hassoun won Star Academy 4, making her the first female winner. Her performance of Fairouz’s “Baghdad” earned her 54.8% of the vote which enabled her to reach the finals. In late July 2009, Shatha achieved her life dream and the dream of fans when she went to her country’s capital Baghdad and sang there in two big charity concerts for the children of Iraq, the first one in Al-elowea club and second one in hunting club, then she hold a press conference in Baghdad where she talked about her joyful to be a first Iraqi and Arab singer who visited Baghdad after war 2003 despite the unstable security in Baghdad and Predict murder in 2009 from one of Astrologer.
Hassoun is working on her album that is going to include songs in the Iraqi, Lebanese, Gulf, Moroccan, and Egyptian dialects. Her main goal is—as she said in an interview—to represent her beloved country Iraq in the best way. Rouwaida Attieh (رويدا عطية) is a Syrian vocalist. She was born in Talklakh, Syria, 40 kilometers from Homs (ancient Emesa). Rouwaida is the daughter of Haydar and Najida Attieh. Her father was brought up in Triploi, Lebanon, where he studied and graduated from High School. Then, he moved to Egypt to specialize in law and there he met Najida. She has four siblings, Fatima, Haitham, Zainab, and Shaima’. Rouwaida was the first runner-up on the first season of Super Star, the pan-Arab import of “Pop Idol”. Along with Lebanese contestant Melhem Zein, she was a favourite to win the contest, which was won by Jordanian contestant Diana Karazon.
From her early childhood, Rouwaida used to watch Umm Kulthum’s concerts on TV and she learned “Enta 3omry” when she was five years old. Her father was fascinated by her talent and he encouraged her. She studied music and playing 3oud (an oriental musical instrument) and she was a member in many clubs for preserving the folklore of the Arabic songs. Rouwaida has quickly risen to fame thanks to the sheer power of her voice, and her skill in using it. Her deep and expressive voice helps her excel in the classical Arabic tarab style and the Levantine dabke style. She has worked with countless Arab musical giants, such as Lebanese composer Imad Shamseddine Lebanese legend Wadih El Safi, and Egyptian composer Salah El Sharnoubi.

Born to a Lebanese father Zakaria Khoury and a Syrian mother Youmna Saud, Elissa Khoury (إليسار زكريا خوري) was raised in the The Bekaa valley in Lebanon. She earned a degree in Political Science from the Lebanese University. She is a Maronite Catholic. Elissa’s father, Zakaria Khoury, who studied and taught Arabic literature, died of cancer in 2004. She has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Her brother Kamel Khoury is a DJ. Her sister Norma is married and lives in Canada, her two other brothers are Ghassan and Jehad.
